WES'S ALGORITHM

WES'S ALGORITHM

I am from Los Angeles, California, and I'm 13 years old in 7th grade. There are 9 different stat categories to fill out your NCAA Men's basketball bracket accurately.

  • Stat #1: RPI rank. RPI is a ranking based on a team's wins, losses and strength of schedule.

  • Stat #2: BPI rank. BPI is a teams ranking based on final score, pace of play, site, strength of opponent and absence of key players.

  • Stat #3: Non-conference strength of schedule (NCSOS) and record. This shows the strength of the teams non-conference schedule, and also how well they did.

  • Stat #4: Conference and conference record. This shows strength of conference and record in conference play.

  • Stat #5:  RPI top 35 Wins: This stat shows a teams strength against good teams

  • Stat #6: Ratio between points per game (PPG) and PPG allowed. This stat shows a team's pace of play and how much a team wins by on average.

  • Stat #7: 3 point percentage. This is how upsets happen, when teams get hot from 3.

  • Stat #8: Free Throw %. This stat shows a teams ability to make Free Throws at the end of games under pressure, and how many Free Throws the team makes during the game.

  • Stat #9: Record on the road. The NCAA Tournament is on a neutral court; teams who don't play well on the road will have a hard time in the Tournament.
